"You're Fired! Obama Fires GM's CEO"

Since the fuck when has a president held the power to fire (request to step down)? Jesus Christ. Only the board of directors holds the power to fire the CEO, but now Obama does too?

That’s some scary, undemocratic shit.

First off, he didn’t fire Rick Wagoner.  He suggested that he step down as CEO.  Why would you want someone who has led GM into the shithole since 1992 to continue to lead the company even further into the shitter?? GM needs a new direction, and to get a new direction, you need a new CEO.  He could have easily told Obama to fuck off if he wanted to and stayed as CEO, but he did what was best for GM and its future.  I think Obama has every right to ask the CEO of a failing company to step aside if said company is getting billions of taxpayer bailout money.

Anyways, it’s hard to feel bad for Wagoner when he’ll be getting his $20 million retirement plan after the dust has settled.
